If you are someone that has been wanting to see change come the Lubbock City Council, you are in luck and more changes are set to happen in June. On Tuesday, May 14, new City Council members were sworn in and a runoff election June awaits other council members and the seat for District 2.

The following were sworn in on Tuesday:

David Glasheen, who now represents District 3, Brayden Rose, who now represents District 4, and Tim Collins who now represents District 6. Jorge Hernandez was also sworn in as Municipal Court Judge.

None of the City Council members that were sworn in on Tuesday faced an opponent in the May 4th election. And after the runoff there will be one new council member and a new Mayor.

The runoff election is set for June 15 with early voting beginning on June 3. KFYO will host a Mayoral Debate on Saturday, June 1st from 2-4pm at the Science Spectrum. Citizens are invited to attend or listen on air.

It's rare to see this much changeover at City Hall all at one time. Budget season is coming quickly so the new members will be deep into paperwork very soon.
