Could Major League Baseball Expand To This Texas City?
Could Texas soon be home to three major league baseball teams? MLB has said expansion is coming and if a group in Austin is right, the Rangers and Astros may have another Texas team to deal with.
Meet the new Austin Baseball Commission, a group of folks who want to bring Major League Baseball to Austin. They even have a concept for what a stadium would look like if approved.
According to the Austin Baseball Commission, the 4 cities being looked at for possible expansion by Major League Baseball are Nashville, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Austin. The Austin Baseball Commission points out all the reasons why Austin would be a great choice. Some of the examples include Economic Strength, Population, the Sports-Friendly Environment, and Lack of Direct Competition, and more.

The Austin Baseball Commission seems to envision the Austin team with a stadium near the heart of ATX.
