Even though Lubbock’s temperamental spring weather is upon us with a cold front and rain, that doesn’t mean Lubbock will be staying home all weekend. There are a variety of great events you can attend in and around Lubbock, and I’m going to give you some information on a couple of them so you can make plans with your friends and family.

55th Annual Ranch Day

The National Ranching Heritage Center is hosting their annual Ranch Day event this Saturday, April 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is an immersive ranching history, skills, and science experience that will feature real cowboys, livestock, and a variety of activities centered around ranch life.

This is a great hands-on experience for all ages. Admission is free, $5 donations are appreciated, and food and drinks will be available for purchase. There will be cattle, sheep, horses, professional demonstrations, and more.

Lubbock Master Gardener Plant Sale

You know spring is in full swing in Lubbock when the Master Gardeners host their big plant sale. They will have a wide variety of plants available from veggies, herbs, house plants, and more. They except cash and credit and all proceeds are dedicated to the Lubbock Master Gardener Association educational programs.

If you are willing to drive a bit outside of Lubbock, there will be a strawberry sale happening in Canyon, Texas. closer to Lubbock, there will also be the Wolfforth Farmers Market, Spring Trolley Tours, and a Laugh Hub City comedy show at BarPM.
