Lubbock Last-Minute Plans: Dance Party, Tacos & Tequila, and More

Another weekend, another set of last-minute plans. If you aren’t sure what you want to do this weekend, August 25th-27th, maybe one of these events will be up your alley.

Friday Night Dance Party

Less than 30 minutes outside of Lubbock, the Broken Spur Event Center is hosting a dance party in Levelland on Friday. They will kick things off with a country two-step dance lesson from 6:30 to 7:30 with Don Hunnicut, followed by the dance party where you can practice the moves you just learned or any other dance you know.

Both couples and singles are welcome, and everyone is encouraged to bring some finger-foods and snacks. There will be drinks available including a special happy hour from 6:30 to 8:00.

Tacos & Tequila Music Festival

The music festival many Lubbock locals have been waiting for is finally here. Tacos & Tequila is an annual event that combines two of the best things, food and music. With an evening of music this Saturday from 3:00 to 11:15, plus several of Lubbock’s favorite food trucks, this is a great chance to have some fun. Each food truck will have at least one delicious taco, and of course, there will be drinks.

This year’s big headliner is Incubus, but there are other great bands playing before the final set. You can catch bands like Black Stone Chery, Badflower, and Third Eye Blind. Doors open for the event at 2:00 so you have plenty of time to grab some grub before the music starts.
