What Are The 25 Highest Paying Jobs Across Texas?

Earlier this year, a study was released on how much money a person needs to live comfortably in Texas. Based on that data, and the information we have on the 25 careers we will highlight, if you have a career on this list you would be able to live comfortably anywhere in Texas. We have to say anywhere because the amount you need to make to be comfortable changes from location to location.

For example, in the Dallas metro area, a single person with no children would need to make $64,742 a year to be comfortable. But in the San Antonio metro, you need to make $59,270 to be comfortable (as long as you're single with no kids). It's not a big change, but when you start to add kids into the equation, those numbers start to double quick, so you need to start making more fast.

Also, for reference, the US metro you would need to make the most to be comfortable in is the San Francisco metro. This metro area includes San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley in California. In the "Bay Area", you need to make $84,026 as a single person to be comfortable.

Back to Texas. Across the entire state, you would need to make $34,923.20 a year to be comfortable...as a single person with no kids. That's also the WHOLE state average, so very small communities are factored in with the giant metro areas. That also breaks down to roughly $17 an hour.

Now this is where it gets wild. If you are a single person with a single child, in order to live comfortably in Texas, you would have to make $70,553.60 annually. Just about $34 an hour. Which again, is the WHOLE state, so we're averaging small communities and big metros together.
