When it comes to being a kid in Amarillo, for the most part, they like to do the same things. Kids love to play and read. They love to spend time with their friends and family. They like to get outside and do stuff.

I dare you to ask any kid to find out how many of them have superhero or princess outfits. The number of them hanging in closets or behind doors is probably way too many to count. Kids love to play dress-up.

The similarities among all kids are great. There is always something to bond over. Then there are those things that make them different. Those differences are great too. You learn that one friend loves to climb on the playground equipment, and one gets a little scared. The other one would rather run around the park, but they can all still have fun, and you learn to adapt.

Capes and Tiaras: Dress-Up Fun with a Purpose

Hope Village is hosting an event to help kids learn and have fun with being the same and a little different:

Hope Village is proud to host a special day for our Amarillo community
This event was inspired by our sweet friend Olivia, who reminded us of something important.. Children don’t always have the opportunity to learn about and interact with kids who may look, learn, or behave differently than they do. But those experiences matter.

What to Expect: Free Food, Vendors, and Community Crafts

Hope Village is hosting Olivia Day on March 22nd from 1 pm - 4 pm out at their place at 5197 S Washington. There will be vendors, crafts, activities, and free food (while supplies last).

Beyond the Fun: Why Inclusion Matters for Amarillo Kids

Encourage your kids to arrive in their favorite superhero or princess costumes.
At Hope Village, we believe every child and every adult deserves to feel seen, valued, and included. Olivia Day was created as a space where people of all abilities, backgrounds, and walks of life can come together, because when children grow up with exposure, understanding, and kindness, they learn that even though someone may look or act differently, everyone deserves equal treatment, friendship, and respect.
So we’re inviting YOU to join us for Olivia Day - a Superhero & Princess Day filled with fun, love, and community!
Pick out those great outfits and get ready to learn about what makes us all the same and celebrate our differences, too.
