Amarillo’s Westgate Mall Shrinks With Loss of a Couple Places
Ever since the Sonic and Corn Dog 7 closed in Westgate Mall's food court they have been hurting for more food options. They have been trying. There have been places that have opened.
We have seen Rotini and the Alfredo for that pasta lover. We got a King & Queens and a Papi Q's. So there has been a variety of things moving in. Unfortunately, some places that have opened inside Westgate Mall have already closed as fast as they opened.
It's kind of sad as traffic is about to move in even more with the reopening of the movie theater. It's supposed to be opening up soon so I feel that is going to make the mall thrive even more. People will need somewhere to eat.
Luckily, there are new places that have just moved in. Also of course we can count on Chick-fil-A. I remember going to Chick-fil-A for the first time at the mall when I was in college. I know it is still there to satisfy my chicken needs.
That is not the news for everything that has been in the food court. In the past few weeks, we have had a couple more casualties. A couple fewer places to eat. It seems we lost Hibachi Steak and Ramen.
I love Hibachi but maybe the mall wasn't the right place for this concept. I never got to try it so I will never know. Not only did we lose our Hibachi in the food court we also lost a place for sweets.
It seems that Sweet Boutique also closed. We can only hope that something bigger and better moves in. Again, take advantage of the movie theater traffic. We will keep an eye on the mall and what might move in. Fingers crossed.
