Dallas Texas Mega Church Pastor Caught in Child Sex Crime Scandal
A high-profile Texas pastor who previously served as Donald Trump's spiritual advisor has just been indicted for sex crimes involving children.
Morris was part of Donald Trump’s spiritual advisory board during the 2016 campaign and the first term of his presidency. Morris also founded the Dallas-area mega church, Gateway, in 2000, with a massive following and congregation.
As large of a political and religious footprint Morris created, his dark and evil crimes could not be hidden forever. Cindy Clemishire came forward and confessed that Morris repeatedly sexually assaulted her while she was a child in Oklahoma in the 1980s.
Morris The Traveling Preacher
Morris stayed with Clemishire and her family while he traveled around spreading the word of God during the 80's. Christmas in 1982, Morris approached Clemishire and told her to "visit him in his room that night."
When Clemishire went to his room she said he sexually abused her and warned to, "Never tell anyone about this because it will ruin everything."
No Crime Goes Unpunished
Not even Morris' high-profile political and religious standing could mask his past crimes.
“After almost 43 years, the law has finally caught up with Robert Morris for the horrific crimes he committed against me as a child,” Clemishire said. “Now, it is time for the legal system to hold him accountable."
Clemishire believes there are more victims and is asking those individuals to come forward, "Any and all victims, come forward ... I just don't believe that I'm the only person," she said.
Morris, who has admitted to his crimes, faces 5 counts of lewd/indecent acts with a child, the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office said.
