What Is Sticky Chikky?
Sticky Chikky originated in Amarillo, where it quickly gained a loyal following for its simple but bold menu. The restaurant focuses on flavorful chicken served with sticky rice and house-made sauces, offering a fast-casual option that stands out from traditional fried chicken or wing concepts. You can also pick up a cherry limeade, their signature sweet tea, or a "dirty" soda. And there's a drive-thru.
Its Amarillo location has built strong word-of-mouth buzz, particularly on social media, helping fuel interest in expansion beyond its original city. Amarillo folks even slept in their cars to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Sticky Chikky and get a free plate of their chicken and sticky rice.
Sticky Chikky is expanding to a second Amarillo location and a location in Lubbock soon.

New Lubbock Location
According to Lubbock In The Loop, the new Lubbock location will be at 114th & Slide, with a tentative opening date of December 2026. Stickky Chikky is currently taking votes on our preferred signage, which is a fun way to get Lubbock involved (we certainly have our opinions on these things- plus the whole sign ordinance thing).
Why This Opening Matters for Lubbock
Lubbock continues to see steady growth in new dining options, particularly from regional brands expanding within West Texas. Sticky Chikky’s arrival reflects that trend and adds another fast-casual choice to the city’s expanding food scene.
For fans who have already made trips to Amarillo to try Sticky Chikky, the Lubbock location will offer a much closer option once it opens. And if you've never had sticky rice before, you are in for a major treat.
