Things About Lubbock We Pretend Don’t Bother Us (But They Totally Do)

Lubbock isn't full of a bunch of complainers! Okay. That's a lie. We actually totally love to complain around here. However, we pretend a few certain things don't bother us much because if we actually admitted how much they did, the conversation would never end.

So, friends, let's be honest for a minute here...

Here are a few things everyone in Lubbock acts totally cool about, but quietly loses their mind over.

Grocery Prices

We all do the same thing:

Head to check out.

Look at the total.

Whisper to ourselves, "Oh god..."

And then carry one tiny bag to our car like it's full of hundred-dollar bills.

No screaming or yelling, but having an absolute meltdown on the inside.

Construction

It's basically never-ending around here. And, guess what? There's a good chance one of the newest projects will delay your drive to work. Joy!

The Wind

We can't stop it. It just keeps coming, no matter the season. Hot wind. Cold wind. Wet wind. Dirty wind. If you're alive in Lubbock, you're experiencing the wind in some form or fashion. We don't stop to complain about it much, but trust me, we all have a bone to pick with the wind.

Dust

If your house has old windows, then you are no stranger to dust and dirt. It gets REALLY dirty around these parts. The wind takes it all over the place, and we spend a lot of time cleaning up after it. If you're new to town, you need a good vacuum. Write that down...
