It doesn't matter if it's 100 degrees outside or 45 degrees, there's nothing better than a vanilla cone from good old Dairy Queen.

My grandmother and I went to DQ at least once a week when she picked me up from elementary school. She's been gone several years, and every time I have Dairy Queen, it reminds me of the beautiful days spent with her, enjoying our favorite treats. She always ordered a Hawaiian Blizzard, which is sadly no longer on the menu. I think it should make a comeback...

If DQ fills you with nostalgia like it does me, or if you're just a big ice cream fan, you'll be excited to hear they are offering customers a free ice cream cone today to celebrate the first day of Spring!

So, how do YOU get a free DQ cone today?

Head to your nearest participating Dairy Queen and ask to redeem your free cone! Heads up, guys, you've got to get the cone in person. You can't get a free one through delivery with the DQ Rewards mobile app. You must physically be at the store to get the sweet treat.

Oh, and guess what? For a single dollar, you can get a dipped cone today, too.

Dairy Queen partnered with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and is offering you a chance to dip your free cone in chocolate for only $1. The proceeds from the dipped cones today ALL be donated to the organization, too. That's a win-win, in my book. You get a cheap dipped cone, and you get to help children who need it the most.

Happy first day of Spring! I'm off to get my cone!
