COLLEYVILLE, Texas - A north Texas home was struck by lightning last night, igniting a fire with the family inside.

The deets:

The incident occurred just after 1 pm on Monday in Colleyville. Security camera footage caught the moment lightning struck the home with a loud crack, after which flames and smoke could be seen on the roof.

The fire department's scale of severity gave the fire a 2-alarm status. 1 is the least severe, and 5 is the most severe.

Is everyone okay?

Three people were taken to the hospital as a result of the lightning strike. Luckily, they only suffered minor injuries.

According to an online fundraiser, Annie and Eric Dries own the home. The fire broke out on the second floor of the home near their children's bedrooms. Annie's parents and a home healthcare employee also live with the family.

Unfortunately, everyone is now displaced while their home undergoes repairs.

If you'd like to donate to the family, click here. They've already raised over $22,000, which is a fantastic start! Here's to hoping they are back in their beds soon, and that the odds of lightning striking the same place twice are truly very slim!
