It's an amazing pink super moon to watch for again tonight here in Lubbock.

The conditions are right, the skies are pretty clear and there should be a wonderful view of this stunning moon for us once again.

It takes a very special event to make this stunning picture, taken last night right here in Lubbock, (courtesy of Larry Williams our great friend at Williams Brake Tune and Tire) It's a rare moment to enjoy, it's the largest full moon of the year. Here's more about our amazing pink moon phenomenon from CNN:

Supermoons occur when the moon is at its closest approach to Earth, making it appear brighter and bigger in the night sky than usual. Although this supermoon is known as a pink moon, it is not actually pink in color.

You can follow this link for more about how the pink supermoon got its name.
