“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.”

 – William Arthur Ward

Giving your child opportunities for exploration and imagination is one of the best gifts that they will ever receive. It not only facilitates cognitive development, but it allows them to socialize and learn independently. Best of all, Lubbock is home to a miniature town square that's tailor made for this type of pretend play.

This magical place is called Play Street Museum. It's an amazing little world that puts your child in control. They can cook, care for animals, work at the bank or become a doctor. The opportunities for self-led creative play are endless.

Owner Erica Diamond first fell in love with this play space when taking her son to the location in Frisco, Texas. After the visit, she saw the need to bring this vibrant village to the Lubbock community.

"It is just a happy place to be – the kids love it and the parents get to have that special interaction with their child. There are toys and costumes to go along with the themes of the buildings. We have a doctor’s office, a pet shop, and a café," Diamond said.

Made for kids ages one through eight, the facility offers four intimate day time play sessions every weekday to allow the kids to get the most out of their time at the museum. However, a few times each month they also offer exclusive weekend and evening events to let working parents engage with their kids in this spectacular place where make believe is the only thing that matters.

Upcoming Event This Friday

One of those sessions is happening this Friday, April 29th from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Play Street Museum's Pizza & Playtime event will benefit the Covenant Children’s Champions for Children campaign, with all admission proceeds going to this beneficial fundraiser. You must sign up in advance, and tickets are limited.
