Make way Lubbock, a new food truck that we have all been waiting for is finally opening up.

Carlitos’ Way Foods is no stranger to Lubbock. When the owner, Carlos Tarrats, moved here he wanted to share his culture with the community. Plus, it has been his dream since he was 12 years old to own a restaurant.

He serves Puerto Rican Cuisine and Caribbean Cuisine. I have actually tried their food and loved it. It was like nothing I have ever had before. There was so much flavor and it made me want more.

"Not a lot of people in Lubbock know our culture, the music, the tastefulness of our food. We cook tasteful, not spicy," said Tarrats.

It all started in 2021 in a trailer. Just cooking outside and serving people that came by. Then he started selling other places and people loved it. Well, now they are finally stepping up to have a food truck for everyone to be able to enjoy.

"We are Blessed and grateful to grow again because of the Support of our Amazing Guests from the Hub City," said Tarrats.

They will now be operating out of The Wolfforth Farmers Market and out and about with three food trailers. They will be selling authentic specialty cups like veggie cups, pull pork cups, steak cups and more. That picture is below of an example.

He will also be adding the choice to build your own empanadillas. You can choose your protein, cheese, side and veggies.

They have a lot more stuff on their menu along with awesome desserts like flan, tres leches and more.

"We are excited about our future and blessed and happy to be around here and serve ya'll," said Tarrats.

This new food truck hopes to be up and running by February 1st, 2023. You can find out more about them on their Facebook page.
