If Oil Prices Stay High, Lubbock Might Get a Maggiano’s Little Italy
Now this made me laugh.
You know me, I'm always looking to see what different restaurants are looking to come to Lubbock. If you've ever been to Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant, you already know why I want it to come to Lubbock.
Not only do they have great Italian food, but also offer a 'buy an entree, take home a classic pasta for tomorrow' deal that I love. I mean, what more can you ask for but two entrees for the price of one?
So this restaurant actually opened back in 1991 in Chicago. According to their website, when they opened they wanted it to be known for "the dishes were simple, authentic classics, many of them coaxed out of Italian grandmothers, mothers, and aunts whose ideas of a recipe were a pinch of this and a sprinkle of that."
As of 2015, they have more than 50 locations and are headquartered in Dallas, Texas. With Dallas being so close, I was hoping that maybe they would be coming here because I did hear some rumors about it.
Well, I got a kick out of the response their parent organization Brinker International gave me.
"Unfortunately Kelsee we do not at this time, but if oil prices stay above $100, who knows," said Steve Provost with Maggiano's Little Italy.
I definitely don't want oil prices to stay that high, but I do want them to come here. Brinker International also owns Chili's and has two locations here, so they know how successful Lubbock could be, so "who knows." At least it wasn't a no.
You can find out more about them on their official website.
