Hank Williams wrote a lot of songs that he never got to record. He always kept notebooks around and filled them with lyric and song ideas. When Hank died in 1953, they were locked away for many years. Those notebooks have now been re-opened, and thirteen accomplished singers and songwriters were given the chance to complete a Hank Williams song.
Norah Jones, Jack White, Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, Alan Jackson, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell, Merle Haggard, Jakob Dyland and Patty Loveless all sing the songs of Hank Williams on the album.
