Free food is the best kind of food. The first 1,000 people to head over to Clapp Park today, June 2nd, 2022, will get a free hamburger, chips and a drink and they'll also have the opportunity to visit with local first responders.

The event is called "Burgers & Badges" and it's an excellent opportunity to get to know the brave men and women that come to our rescue in the worst situations.

The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. and there will be lots of entertainment for the whole family. There will be fun games for kids and a bounce house, so make sure you bring the little ones. There will also be first responder vehicles on sight, and if you have a kiddo that really loves a good firetruck, it would be a great time to let them get an up close look at one. There will also be music, and there's really nothing better than a burger with pals and some sweet jams.

You can also bring your dog. The flyer says that well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed to join in the fun, too.

So head over to Clapp Park tonight and show our local first responders just how much we appreciate everything they do for us. They walk into the scariest situations and always answer when we call. This is a wonderful chance to get to know them better and to thank them for everything they have done for Lubbock. See you there.
