Garth Brooks Wins Entertainer of the Year at 2019 CMA Awards
In a stunning victory, Garth Brooks took home Entertainer of the Year at the 2019 CMA Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night.
Reese Witherspoon was on hand to present the award, which closed out the 2019 CMA Awards. Brooks was up against Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban for the award, and he seemed almost surprised himself when he took the stage to deliver his acceptance speech.

The country superstar delivered a humble speech in which he shouted out a number of other artists, saying, "If they gave this award for this show tonight, I'd have to give it to Reba McEntire for her performance tonight of 'Fancy.' And Kelsea Ballerini — if you want to know what an entertainer is, take a guitar and just a single voice in the middle of an arena and shrink a room ... fantastic performance."
He also called out Luke Combs, who had a huge night after winning both Song and Male Vocalist of the Year.
"Wherever you're at, this has got your name on it in the future, hoss, I can tell you that right now," Brooks said.
The superstar also thanked members of his professional team before ending by thanking his wife and frequent musical partner, Trisha Yearwood.
Brooks' year in 2019 saw him on two very different kinds of tours. His ongoing Stadium Tour found him playing in some of the largest venues in North America, while his Dive Bar Tour put him and his band in some of the kinds of intimate venues where Brooks originally launched his career.
Brooks also took the stage with Blake Shelton at the 2019 CMA Awards to perform "Dive Bar," their recent collaboration.
