Estacado RB Antwoine Jones Nominated for Texas Bowl ‘Mr. Texas Football’ Player of the Week Award
Estacado Matador running back Antwoine Jones is getting some statewide recognition after having a stellar performance last week in Estacado's 49-42 win over Seminole.
Jones rushed for 217 yards with 2 touchdowns, plus he had an 82 yard receiving touchdown.
Monday afternoon, he was nominated for the Mr. Texas Football Players of the Week Award, presented by the Texas Bowl and Dave Campbell's Texas Football. Estacado is currently tied for first place, with Levelland, in District 2-4A Division II with a (1-0) district record. Perryton is in third place with no district record, and Seminole and Borger are tied for fourth place with an (0-1) district record. The Matadors next game is Friday, October 16 at Borger with a 7pm kickoff. You can hear Friday's Estacado game on Talk 1340.
