Depending on who you ask, dating apps are either the single greatest tool invented for dating or are the devil's instrument of infidelity. Heck, we even had some fun placing Lubbock celebrities in some humorous Tinder posts.

But the story below is no joke.

Today, a Lubbock woman who did not want to be identified writes to ask how she should handle a situation involving her boyfriend who may be grazing in other pastures. Here's what she said:

I've been in a relationship for the past 5 years with someone who I thought was a great guy. However, I come to find out that behind my back the entire time, he's been cheating on me. How did I find out? It all started when I had to borrow his phone to make a call, and I saw a notification pop-up from a dating app. I didn't open the notification, but did some sleuthing of my own and found out that my boyfriend has had a Tinder account for the past 5 years.

So, I set up an account under a fake name, found his profile and swiped right on him, he responded almost immediately. I did not respond back, and I'm not sure what to do with this information. He is also the father of my child, so that complicates things a lot. What do I do?

So, your baby daddy is using a dating app to check out other girls, and when you set up a fake profile in hopes of catching him in the act he acted.

Yeah, it jumped up a notch.

Obviously, this is a horrible situation that is only complicated by the fact that there's a young child involved. If these two hadn't made a little human, the easiest advice would be to yell "run for the hills" and dump that snake.

Unfortunately, the young woman who asks for advice failed to mention if she and the guy are living together (I assume they are) or who is the sole provider in the relationship. Either way, whether he has or hasn't cheated at this stage, it's clear he's unfaithful by his actions. In our non-expert opinion, she needs to make the break and dump that online lothario.
