Prince's "Purple Rain" is an in-concert favorite for Darius Rucker. The singer has performed the classic song live for years, including during his time on the road with Lady Antebellum, on Lady A's We Own the Night Tour in 2012. During that trek, one extra-special performance of the song featured a surprise appearance by Charles Kelley.

On the final night of the We Own the Night Tour, Kelley appeared onstage while Rucker was performing Prince's 1984 hit ... but he didn't exactly look like himself. Rather, the singer donned a curly black wig, sunglasses and a purple jacket in his best impersonation of the iconic artist himself. Kelley offered up a few Prince-like wails and dance moves before he and Rucker closed the song as a duet. Press play on the video above to watch their performance.

On Thursday (April 21), Prince was found dead at his home in Paisley Park in Minnesota; CNN reports that a family member confirmed the music legend's death, and that police were investigating. Prince was 57.

"Once again Heaven's band just got even more incredible," Rucker tweeted after news of Prince's death broke. "Thank u for showing me what true GREATNESS is!!"
