Couple’s Controversial Tipping Policy Is Just Plain Cruel

Gratuity has become a game that seems more than just a little mean.

Someone took a screenshot (note the NSFW language) of a Facebook post in which a man explains his unusual method for tipping while eating out. The screenshot showed up on Twitter, where you need to read it to believe it.

A waiter or waitress should earn his or her tip, but to belittle a server like this is not cool. And while we're not certain the screenshot in question comes from a real Facebook post, it's certainly gotten a discussion started about how people should be treated, whether they are serving you food or not.

There's also the little matter that $5 is most likely not going to reach the 15-20% threshold most people deem appropriate when leaving a tip.

Twitter was certainly not amused by this policy. What do you think?
