City of Lubbock Prepares for Possibility of Coronavirus

The City of Lubbock Health Department is said to be working with health care partners to prepare for the possibility of a Coronavirus case.

It should be noted that there haven't been any cases in the Lubbock area, but the City of Lubbock Health Department is still monitoring the virus outbreak that started in Wuhan, China.

Anyone who has recently traveled to Wuhan, China should monitor themselves for symptoms and call their health care provider if they develop any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath.

Here are a few steps you can take to prevent the spread of any respiratory virus:

• Was hands frequently
• Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
• Avoid contact with sick individuals
• Stay home if sick
