Charlie Daniels is poised to jam again. The country stalwart has announced that his annual Volunteer Jam will return in 2020, with Daniels and several of his superstar friends taking the stage at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sept. 15.

Launched in 1974 at War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, Volunteer Jam has spanned 40 years, bringing artists across genres to Nashville for an all-star show that benefits Daniels' nonprofit, the Journey Home Project, which provides aid and resources to veterans returning from war.

The legendary show is known for its surprise guest appearance and collaborative performances — past performers include Garth Brooks, Tammy Wynette and Luke Bryan, along with cross-genre acts like Billy Joel and Johnny Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Volunteer Jam celebrated its 40th year in 2015, while the 2016 edition served as an 80th birthday celebration for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" singer.

"We play over one hundred cities every year and they're all special in their own way, but when you get a chance to bring it all back home, especially when so many of your friends are joining you, it don't get much better than that," Daniels describes in a press release. "Jammin' in the Guitar Town, second to none!"

"The jam is unique in so many ways," adds Daniels' manager, David Corlew. "Multi-act shows are common these days, but none offer the opportunity to interact with the other acts, literally by jamming with a plethora of artists and musicians. It's Charlie Daniels at his best!"

The 2020 lineup will be unveiled in February. Tickets for the show go on sale ahead of that news, on Friday (Dec. 20) at 11AM ET.
