Exciting news: Casey Donahew is set to perform this Saturday night at Cook's Garage, (11002 Highway 87, Lubbock). Careful social distancing will be enforced and in place according to the venue.

It's sure to be a tremendous night of music when this Texas Country powerhouse takes the stage. His self-made career launched about 15 years ago. He now has eight tremendous recorded albums under his belt, and has sold out venues like Billy-Bob's in Fort Worth more than once. Donahew still finds his passion on stage, according to his website.

This Saturday's concert is live under the stars in the fresh air, and you are advised to BYOLC. (BYOLC helps to give us a new safer way to have a concert. It means Bring Your Own Lawn Chair.) Cook's Garage announced that they have permission for an outdoor gathering, but no food or alcohol will be served.

The venue is strictly advising concertgoers to stay in their group or family. This is so important it's also stated that the show will not start until the band is comfortable that these guidelines are being followed.

Here's what they've stated on their site:

Casey Donahew live outside under the signs. We have approval for an outside gathering. No outside food or alcohol. We encourage you to B.Y.O.L.C (bring your own lawn chair) to practice social distancing.

General Admission $25, Day of Show $35

PLEASE RESPECT SOCIAL DISTANCING and stay with your group or family!

Artists will not perform until comfortable with audience's ability to practice social distancing!

This should be a safe way to have a concert, when combined with Gov. Abbott's face mask mandate. Monitoring the total capacity at a venue is not enough, as we've learned the hard way thanks to a highly-publicized recent concert that received serious backlash. So we look forward to seeing this strategy be successful.

Doors open at 7 p.m., the show starts at 10 p.m. and tickets start at $25 if you plan ahead. You can follow this link for tickets and details.
