The city of Nashville has tapped Brett Eldredge to headline its huge annual Fourth of July celebration, dubbed "Let Freedom Sing." The bill for the free event also includes celebrated songwriter Mac McAnally and up-and-coming soul singer Jessy Wilson.

This year the performance will also air live on CMT, giving all the people who don't get to flock to downtown Nashville a chance to witness the festivities. The 90-minute show will also feature the Nashville Symphony's celebrated 30-minute performance, which syncs up to one of the nation's largest public fireworks displays, stationed just across the symphony on the other side of the Cumberland River.

Eldredge will perform from a stage set up at 5th a Broadway, a popular intersection for public performances in Nashville. The free public celebration is one of the largest in the city — last year more than 250,000 locals and tourists attended, the second-most after 284,000 attended in 2014.

Eldredge joins a growing list of notable performers who have headlined the concerts. Years past featured artists including Lady Antebellum, Chris Young and Sheryl Crow.

A crossover country crooner, Eldredge's most recent album, 2017's Brett Eldredge, topped the country charts and came in at No. 2 on the all-genre albums chart. Though the album has yet to yield any No. 1 singles at country radio, it has already proven a fan-favorite and critical success. In addition to his headlining performance at Let Freedom Sing, Eldredge will be visiting Australia at the end of April and touring the United States throughout much of 2019.
