$1.2 BILLION.

That's the estimated jackpot of the next Powerball drawing set for Wednesday, November 2. That's because nobody won Monday night's Powerball drawing for an estimated annuitized $1 billion.

Monday's winning numbers were 13-19-36-39-59 with a Powerball of 13. How ironic is that?  The Halloween drawing produced the number 13 twice! But, as luck would have it...still no grand prize winner.

Is This Jackpot Amount a Record?

Wednesday's drawing will be the 30th in the current Powerball jackpot run since starting as an estimated annuitized $20 million for the August 6 drawing. In addition to being the largest Grand Prize up for grabs in 2022, this Powerball jackpot is also the largest since the world record estimated annuitized $1.586 billion Grand Prize for the drawing held on January 13, 2016.

Even though no one matched all six numbers, there were several players who matched the 5 non-Powerball numbers to win $1,000,000. Two of those were from Texas. One of those winning tickets was sold at Annie Stop & Shop on Airline Drive in Houston.

The other was sold at a convenience store in Cedar Park, near Austin.

Neither of the Texas winners opted in for the Power Play and the chance to double their winnings.

So far in 2022, 17 second-tier Powerball prizes of $1 million or larger have been sold to Texas Lottery players, including seven during the current jackpot run. In addition to Monday's winners, a Humble retailer sold a second-tier prize-winning ticket worth $1 million for the Saturday, Oct. 29 drawing and a Richardson retailer sold a second-tier prize-winning ticket worth $1 million for the Monday, Oct. 24 drawing.

Earlier this month, a Paris retailer sold a second-tier prize-winning ticket worth $1 million for the Saturday, Oct. 22 drawing and a Fort Worth resident claimed a second-tier Powerball prize worth $1 million for the Oct. 15 drawing.

Before that, a Manvel resident claimed a $1 million second-tier prize for the drawing held on Aug. 27 and a New Braunfels resident claimed a $1 million second-tier prize for the drawing held on Sept. 12.

Given the frenzy of folks who will be buying tickets before Wednesday's drawing, don't be surprised to see the estimated jackpot go above the estimated $1.2 billion.  The actual cash value will be somewhere above half a billion dollars.
