Better 'climb the mountain' while you can. Last month, we reported on Gander Mountain’s possible closing. Well, it's now official.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Gander Mountain announced that it will be closing 10 of its 22 stores in Texas. In total, the company will close 32 of its 162 stores, reports USA Today.

Lubbock's store will be gone, but the company's Amarillo location has been spared for the moment. A number of suitors have been courting the now bankrupt retailer in order to save it, but it's too late for the Lubbock store.

I called the Lubbock store and spoke to an employee who said he was not aware of the store closing, but told me they were having a store-wide clearance sale.

If you have any Gander Mountain gift cards, you would be wise to use them up ASAP.
