Backroad Anthem Share Video Showing Craig Strickland ‘Doing What He Loved’
Days after Backroad Anthem singer Craig Strickland was tragically found dead after being reported missing, the band have shared a previously unreleased music video for their song “Torn," featuring the late lead singer. The caption reveals the video was made in 2015, and the rest of the members wanted fans to see Strickland in his element.
"Torn" shows the guys performing the tune in a studio, interspersed with behind-the-scenes shots of the band goofing around, posing for photos and making the video itself. It shows Strickland’s genuine passion and enjoyment of what he does and the kind of joyful, positive person he was.
"We are so proud of how it turned out, and we know Craig was too," Backroad Anthem say.
Strickland was reported missing in late December after not returning from a hunting trip in Oklahoma with his friend, Chase Morland. The guys had ventured into severe weather for the hunt, and their boat was found capsized. Morland's body was found the next day, but 29-year-old Strickland's body was not recovered until Monday (Jan. 4).
Strickland’s wife, Helen, has been sharing emotional posts about the tragedy, noting that her husband fought his way out of the water and up a hill before hypothermia set in.
Backroad Anthem are a six-piece country-rock band out of Fayetteville, Ark. formed in 2012 and has opened for artists like Chris Young, Gary Allan, Dustin Lynch and Tyler Farr. Fans have been kept updated on the tragic situation via the band’s Facebook page.
