The school year is about to begin for students on the South Plains and for some that means going back into a school building for the first time in a while. For other students, that means learning at home. No matter how students will be learning this year, snacks and lunch are a must have.

Brenda Garcia, corporate dietitian for the United Family of stores joined me today to discuss different healthy snacks and lunch tips that are good at home and on the go.

Garcia encouraged listeners to visit happyandnourished.com to get all types of ideas for back to school time. One really neat product that Garcia talked about was a snack item called Split. Split basically comes in a squeeze pack that is split down the middle. On one side is peanut butter and on the other is grape jelly. Garcia also encouraged listeners to pick up hard boil eggs from United Supermarkets. They are tasty, fast, and ready to eat. Garcia also promoted cheese sticks and fruit cups as great on the go snacks that are healthy and delicious.

Listen to the full interview above with Brenda Garcia from United Supermarkets to get more great tips about back to school and even back to work snacks that are delicious and healthy for everyone.
