A Robot That Will Monitor Unhappy Customers at Walmart?
Walmart is endeavoring to insure customer satisfaction by introducing a robot at the checkout that is capable of reading your mood.
According to this report from Business Insider, video cameras at the checkout would be set up to monitor customer's facial expressions. If an unhappy customer is detected, an alert will be sent to an employee who will be directed to address the unhappy customer and potential problem.
Walmart is hoping to retain more existing customers by handling any issues before they become a customer complaint.
A facial recognition camera would probably be overworked, registering the look on my face right now as I try to wrap my mind around how this robot idea might possibly work.
Could this work? I guess we'll see. In the meantime, keep smiling!
