Nomi Health now has a new COVID-19 testing site open in North Lubbock.

This announcement comes almost a week after the City of Lubbock announced that they would be closing their Mini Hub vaccination clinic and COVID-19 testing site. Its last day of operation was Saturday, February 19th.

Jaclynn Fuller, Nomi Health's Texas State Operations Director, said that this new testing site was opened with consideration of COVID-19 trends. She said:

Ultimately with COVID, you know, it ebbs and flows. So there is a chance we’ll see a surge again, in the future, it’s so unpredictable. This services a different population and just gives us the opportunity to kind of be prepared, if it does go up in the future.

Even though the demand for testing has dropped recently, Fuller wants to be prepared in case another surge happens:

It seems to be with COVID that the need has yet to go away. So we intend to stay as long as we can be of service again to all the people in the area.

KAMC News reports that the new testing site has opened in the XFAB Texas business parking lot north of the city. Nomi Health already had a site at 6006 82nd Street in Lubbock.

Both sites will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
