A Lubbock original since 1979, The 50 Yard Line Steakhouse (2549 S. Loop 289) is closing its doors for good the first weekend of June.

The owners, Bruce Jaggers and Ed Price, are still looking for a buyer and hope to find someone to carry on and keep things going, but previous offers have not worked out and they are now set to close, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Founder Jerrell Price was a football player at Texas Tech, and the restaurant is full of terrific sports memorabilia.

It's sad to see this longstanding Lubbock staple close its doors. They will be missed.
