A Lubbock Man Is Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teenage Girl

A Lubbock, Texas man was arrested Thursday, October 6th on sexual assault charges.

Lubbock police were dispatched to Covenant Children’s emergency room back in June 2021 where a young girl told police she was sexually assaulted by 42-year-old Chase Hottinger.

KAMC news reported that Hottinger had provided free rides to female minors and had portrayed himself as a driver for a popular rideshare service. Along with free riders Hottinger is said to have offered alcohol, money, food, and even dangerous drugs such as cocaine and ecstasy to the young females.

Hottinger is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl who was under the influence of marijuana while in a vehicle. In a warrant, Hottinger stated that he had no relationship with any of the minors he gave free rides to prior to meeting them online.

A few of the girls came forward, one stating that she would sleep at Hottinger's house when she was too "messed up" to go home. One victim said that Hottinger would send the girls explicit pornography and request different things from them, such as asking a girl to kiss one of her friends, another young girl. A different older girl stated that when she was 16 years old, Hottinger asked her and a friend to start paying for the rides or they would have to pay by having sex with him.

Hottinger was arrested and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Speeding (Radar). He's currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $300,000 bond.
