The largest rocking chair in Texas, and the world's largest Cedar rocker, is the Star of Texas Rocker, 26 feet tall and standing proud since 2002 in Lipan Texas, according to Roadsidewonders.net and Roadside America.

There has been a competitive battle to build the largest chair since the first large chair in the U.S. was built in 1905 in Gardner Massachusetts. It was a 12 foot tall Mission chair according to Roadside America.

Soon after many towns began building chairs to compete; a 35 foot chair in Gulfport Mississippi, a 42 foot rocker made of steel in Missouri, and the largest chair in America in Casey, Illinois was built standing at 56.5 feet.

In case you're wondering the largest chair in the world stands at 65 feet tall in Monzano, Italy.

Our Star of Texas rocker is still the largest cedar rocking chair in the world and a pretty great site and photo op, and according to their facebook comments there's good food there as well! This could definitely be a great summer road trip idea!
