The #5 Red Raiders are coming off a tough weekend series against the Kentucky Wildcats in which they dropped the first two games before ultimately taking the third game. They continued their Kentucky road trip as they took on the Louisville Cardinals for a two game midweek series.

In game 1, Grant Little swung a hot bat as he racked up five hits in his five at bats, needing only a homerun to complete the cycle as the Red Raiders picked up the 8-4 victory.

Ryan Shetter got the start for Texas Tech and had a little trouble with his control of the ball, however he still went 4 innings giving up one run which was unearned, striking out two batters while walking five. He gave way to Jose Quezada who earned his third victory of the season by throwing three innings, allowing one run off of two hits and striking out three.

With that win that would move the Red Raiders to 16-2 on the season and give the Louisville Cardinals just their 2nd lost of the season to move them to 14-2.

Game 2 of the series was Wednesday morning as the Red Raiders tried to complete the quick two game sweep of Louisville. After coming out to a quick 3-0 start in the first inning the Red Raiders were not able to hang on as they dropped the final game by a final of 7-4.

After back-to-back walks to Kurt Wilson and Josh Jung, Cameron Warren kicked off the scoring early in the game as he sent a ball over the right field wall for a three-run homerun, just his second of the year, to put the Red Raiders up 3-0 after the first inning.

Then in the 4th inning, Wilson, with runners on the corner would rip a single in between the shortstop and third baseman to make it a 4-1 lead for the Red Raiders.

Sophomore Connor Queen picked up his first start for the Red Raiders on Wednesday. He went 3 innings giving up one run off of three hits, while walking two batters. Ryan Sublette would be the losing pitcher of record for Tech as he came in, in the sixth inning and allowed three runs while only lasting 0.2 innings.

Next up for the Red Raiders is the first conference series of the year as they travel to Waco to take on the Baylor Bears for a three game series beginning on Friday at Baylor Ballpark.
