2019 American Music Awards Nominees Announced

The 2019 American Music Awards nominees have been announced, and country artists are nominated in some key categories this year.

Luke Combs and Dan + Shay lead the country artists who are nominated in 2019 with three apiece. Combs scored an impressive nod in the all-genre category of New Artist of the Year as well as two country nominations.

Kane Brown and Carrie Underwood both earned two nominations, while Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus scored several nods for their "Old Town Road" collaboration in non-country categories. Taylor Swift also scored a series of AMA nominations around her most recent album, Lover.

Ella Mai announced the initial categories during an appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday morning (Oct. 24). The rest of the nominees were revealed via the AMAs website. Voting in all categories is now open at that website through Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 11:59:59PM PT.

The 2019 American Music Awards are set to air on ABC on Sunday, Nov. 24. Ciara will host the event live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
