Texas Senior Citizen Love Triangle Leaves one Dead

A 78-year-old man was arrested after shooting and killing his wife's boyfriend.

ABC 13 reports that Dennis Patrick Gibson also shot and injured his wife in Katy, Texas in the Houston area.

According to the police report the deceased is 66-year-old Vernon Burger. He was taken to the hospital after being shot but was pronounced dead.  Gibson's wife, 68-year-old Jacqueline Gibson is expected to survive.

The report says Burger and Dennis Gibson knew each other from a German singing group. Apparently Burger was picking up Jacqueline Gibson Friday morning for a trip to Louisiana. When Dennis Gibson found out, the fight broke out and led to the shootings.

Dennis Gibson apparently confessed to the shooting and has been booked into the Fort Bend County Jail, charged with aggravated assault and murder.
