There were several people taken by ambulance over the labor day weekend due to heat exhaustion.

My wife and I spent the day in Palo Duro Canyon, it was busy as expected with tourists, families, bikers and hikers.  As the day went on the temp gauges before each trail would reach up to 120 degrees!

We saw the ambulance drive by several times and according to one biker, several people from his group had heat exhaustion.  People simply underestimated the heat and the amount of water you need.

Regardless, it was an amazing day at Palo Duro, clear skies provided some breath-taking views.
