Murder for Hire Goes Awry

A hitman in Brazil, Carlos Robert Jesus, fell in love with his victim, Ranildes Aguiar Araujo, and instead of killing her, faked her death and had an affair with her. It all started when Maria Nilza Simoes, a jealous woman in her 50s hired Carlos, for a mere $530, to kill a woman who she believed was having an affair with her boyfriend. But Carlos' emotions got the best of him and he faked Araujo's death, covering her with ketchup, putting a knife in her armpit and snapping her photo to send to Simoes. Simoes paid him and all was fine, except Simoes happened to run into Araujo at a party later. Whoops! What would you do? Probably not what Simoes did. ABC News reports she went to the police and now, all three are expected to appear in court in October. Ah, love.
