October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and a pink spotlight is shining on this cause by multiple arms of the entertainment industry. Country quartet Lonestar are doing their part to raise funds and awareness. The band are helping to corral $50,000 for benefit breast cancer research by doing what they do best -- perform.

Lonestar will take the stage along with Randy Houser and the FARM on Friday night (Oct. 5) at the 9th annual, ladies-only Pajama Jam in Roanoke, Va., which is 94.9 FM Star Country's charity show. The show sold out in less than an hour, and all the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. So, almost 1,000 ladies will be able to enjoy Lonestar and for a greater good.

"We’re really looking forward to this show," guitarist Michael Britt said in a press release. "Just about everyone knows someone affected by cancer and this has to stop! We’re happy 94.9 Star Country has asked us to be a part of their efforts and do our part for a better, healthier tomorrow."

We have to give props to Lonestar for going above and beyond to support the ever-important BCA cause. Education, awareness and annual mammograms are the way to go.

Lonestar are currently pushing their latest single, 'The Countdown,' at radio.
