This 18th annual Mardi Gras celebration raises money for Lubbock Meals On Wheels  and is happening Tuesday February 28th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

You can listen to my interview with Lubbock Meals On Wheels Director Mary Gerlach above. Lubbock Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that brings warm, nutritious meals to those in need in the Lubbock area.

"It's a big deal and it's a seriously good time," Gerlach said. "We've got a children's activity area....and we've got a very fun photo booth with props and then you can download the pictures off of Facebook later on." she explained.

This exciting event is fun for the whole family. This year you can expect to find more than 37 food booths with a wonderful variety of samples to taste, plus a cash bar and close to 300 items on their tremendous Silent Auction.

The fun of Mardi Gras is captured with beads, colorful masks and flamboyant decor in purple, green and gold.

Enjoy the music of Element! Lubbock's very own hometown funk band. This group brings a unique fun-loving flavor to everything they play!

Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for children 17 and under. You can purchase tickets in advance on the Lubbock Meals On Wheels website. Tickets are also available at the MOW office and through Select A Seat.

Don't miss this fun-filled event! The 18th Annual Meals On Wheels Mardi Gras Celebration at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, Tuesday February 28th from 5:30-9:00 pm.
