A Mo in Movember For Men’s Health Awareness

Since November 1, those men participating in Movember have been reducing their razor time. Since we are about a week in, things are bound to be a little uncomfortable, but it's all for an important cause.

Movember is an international campaign to raise awareness for men's health. Grow a mustache in November, hence Movember. (According to the Movember Foundation the mustache is your ribbon and moving is part of the challenge as well.)

Here in Lubbock, Brian Hiler became motivated to take action for men's health with Movember, after participating in the Komen Race For The Cure according to a Lubbock Avalanche Journal article in 2010.

This men's health initiative was founded in Australia in '03 according to the Movember Foundation. where Mo is a common nickname for mustache. The original focus was for Prostate Cancer awarness but has expanded in recent years.

If you see a man with a mustache in Movember it' can be your reminder to help and take action in the movement for men's health.
