As we return to a sense of normalcy here in Lubbock, you may have noticed that it sometimes takes longer to get a table at your favorite restaurant.

According to a report from the TWC, Texas has shown 9 consecutive months of job growth, but Lubbock has actually saw a 0.7% increase in unemployment claims in Jan. 2021.

The American Rescue Act will use $1.9 trillion dollars to extend unemployment benefits, increase the child tax credit, and issue stimulus checks of $1,400.

The American Rescue Plan would provide $1,400 payments to single Americans making less than $75,000 and married couples making less than $150,000.

Congress is nearing an agreement on the details of a new economic stimulus package that should include direct payments of $600 per person, but don't expect them until 2021.
