As someone who has lost friends to motorcycle accidents, hearing about the loss of life in a motorcycle accident breaks my heart all over again.

Joseph "Chad" Privitt was struck and killed around 2:45 a.m. near the 131 mile marker on Highway 20. The driver of the dark 2015 or 2016 Ford pickup truck that hit him fled the scene. The truck was going the wrong way at the time.

As you can imagine, the Odessa police department is looking for the culprit, who more than likely has damage to the driver side of their vehicle. Since Odessa is fairly close by, we Lubbockites should be on the lookout for a vehicle matching this description. If doing the right thing isn't motive enough, there is also a $1000 reward for information leading to the wrong-way, possibly drunk driver that struck and killed Privitt.

If you have any information, you can call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
