National Doughnut Day isn't until June, but for Jake Owen, an unofficial version came a bit early when he accompanied his 5-year-old daughter, Pearl, to her school for a "daddy-daughter donut day" on Mar. 14. The singer posted a fun series of photos to social media to commemorate the sweet (and slightly messy) event.

The morning, as suggested, was all about doughnuts, with Owen choosing to indulge in what appears to be a classic glazed ring. Pearl, however, went for the really good stuff, chowing down on a chocolate-frosted concoction.

"[She] reminded me to cherish this time in a woman’s life when they don’t care if they have chocolate frosting all over their face," Owen fondly noted of his little girl.

Owen also remarked that he enjoyed being in the company of a bunch of dads "being Dads."

Although divorced from Pearl's mom after a short three years of marriage—and despite keeping up a hectic entertainer's schedule—he's been a devoted father who shares custody, and seems to make the most of every moment with his child. He's posted many adorable photos of the two of them in various adventures, as well as a shot documenting her 5th birthday in Nov. 2017.

Owen also announced in November that he would be joining the roster of Big Loud Records, a move that reunited him with Joey Moi, the producer of his breakthrough album, 2011's Barefoot Blue Jean Night.
