Toxic Water Invades this North Texas City
Put that cup down! Residents in Grand Prairie, TX went into crisis mode after discovering that their city water supply was contaminated with toxic chemicals.
Grand Prairie City Councilman Junior Ezeonu alerted the city in an X post, imploring citizens to abstain from using any water other than bottled until the situation is resolved.
Councilman Ezeonu also included an approximate map detailing the affected region... basically most of the city.
Not only did the city issue this warning, but Grand Prairie ISD also cancelled all classes and extracurricular activities the following day as they take further precautions.
What Yuckified the Water?
It turns out that a recent fire at a warehouse resulted in firefighters dispersing a foaming agent to douse the flames... whiiiiich somehow leaked into the city water supply.
A no-drinky notice was issued to the previously shown portion of the city, and the City Hall began handing out free bottled water to residents as an alternative to playing Russian roulette with their tap water.
Here's to hoping that soon this can all be water under the bridge and the residents of Grand Prairie can resume their lives as normal.
