These Texas Airports Have The Worst TSA Holiday Wait Times
We are getting closer to that dreaded time of year for air travel. The Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holiday season. Millions of Americans will hit the friendly skies through the end of the year traveling to vacation destinations and to see family and friends.
That means our nation's airports will be packed and if you are traveling you will want to allow extra time to get through TSA security. And if you are traveling through these major Texas airports.
The site upgradedpoints.com ranked 63 major airports on Average Holiday Wait Time for standard TSA. They also looked at wait times for TSA PreCheck customers and the worst day of the week for wait times.
Out of 63 airports in the nation, Dallas Love Field ranked 11th worst in the nation. Those flying out of Love Field can expect an average wait time of 7.6 minutes in the TSA security line and Sunday was found to be the worst day of the week to travel out of Love Field. Flying out of Austin-Bergstrom isn't much better. Austin ranked as the 14th longest wait time in security lines. The average wait time for TSA in Austin is 7.2 minutes.
To be fair, both of those wait times sound great compared to Jacksonville International Airport which came in as the worst with a wait time of 12 minutes.
Other Texas airports did pretty good on TSA wait times.
George Bush Intercontinental ranked 39th with an average wait time of 4.7 minutes. DFW airport ranked 45th worst with an average wait time of 4.3. minutes and San Antonio International ranked 63rd with a wait time of just 1.4 minutes. No other Texas airport was reported on.
