Texas authorities and the Governor are celebrating the capture of Trevor McEuen, who has been on the run since early May.

McEuen was set to appear in court back on May 5 to face trail for a murder charge. Instead he removed his ankle monitor and fled. A manhunt was soon on for the 33 year old.

McEuen Caught In Texas After SWAT Standoff

According to WFAA in Dallas, Trevor McEuen was taken into custody on Monday morning in Van Zandt County.

Kaufman County Authorities said in a press release that early Monday morning a "tactical unit executed a search warrant at a property in Van Zandt County". WFAA reports that he was taken into custody without incident.

McEuen has been transported to the Kaufman County Jail. According to WFAA and a press release, he is now being held for a number of charges including capital murder. In addition to capital murder he faces five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and arson.

Did McEuen Have Help?

Authorities are still investigating about whether anyone helped McEuen escape or stay hidden.


McEuen was named to the Texas Top Ten Most Wanted List after he escaped.
